The marketing team envisioned the campaign under the theme of “Targeting Skin Solution,” aiming to simplify the decision-making process for shoppers while showcasing Elizabeth Arden’s expertise in skincare.
USP’s Contribution USP Demo Solutions developed a multi-technology demo card that incorporated three advanced testers from its portfolio. This innovative card enabled consumers to assess key skin concerns, including hydration levels and wrinkles, offering insights into their specific needs.
The experience was gamified using a scratch-off surface, adding a playful element to the diagnostic process. Shoppers could uncover personalized day and night skincare routines tailored to their results. This engaging and educational tool not only enhanced the consumer experience but also demonstrated the efficacy of Elizabeth Arden’s products, helping shoppers make confident, informed decisions.
The Challenge
For the Targeted Skin Solution, EA needed to make the "Educating on skin concerns" promise something shoppers in the skin care category could see for themselves, not just read on a label. In the few seconds a shopper spends at shelf or in a consultation, copy and ingredient lists rarely land, especially when rival products advertise hydration, anti-aging claims.
The brief for the Targeted Skin Solution was to turn that abstract message into a tangible, repeatable proof point that retail staff, pharmacists or beauty advisors could run on demand, without lab equipment or specialist training, while staying on brand for EA.
